Access to reliable, affordable, and clean energy is essential for health, education, safety,
and economic development , yet millions in rural Africa still live without it.
At EWWA, we are committed to bridging the energy gap by bringing renewable power
solutions to the heart of underserved and refugee communities.
Our energy programs are designed to improve livelihoods, protect the environment,
and build local ownership of sustainable energy systems. On this program we
implement the following elements
Solar Microgrids & Off-Grid Power
Many rural areas are far from national electricity grids, leaving homes,
schools, health centers, and businesses in the dark. EWWA develops and installs
community-based solar microgrids that provide reliable power for lighting, refrigeration,
communication, and small enterprises. Our off-grid solutions are modular, meaning
they can grow with the community’s needs.
Energy Efficiency & Cleaner Cooking
Open-fire cooking and traditional stoves consume large amounts of firewood and charcoal,
contributing to deforestation, indoor air pollution, and health problems.
EWWA promotes energy-efficient cookstoves that use less fuel and produce
less smoke, reducing respiratory illnesses — especially among women and
children. We also train households on energy conservation practices to
stretch every kilowatt.
