We are committed to promoting and advancing renewable and sustainable energy solutions,
with a particular focus on biogas and solar technologies. Our work includes promoting
the use of biogas stoves to reduce indoor air pollution and empower women by cutting
down the time they spend collecting firewood. By doing so, we help ease the pressure on
biomass resources and decrease reliance on both biomass and fossil fuels for cooking
and lighting. Our efforts aim to reduce time poverty for women and combat indoor pollution.
At EWWA,
we believe that with the right systems, organic waste can fuel communities, enrich
farmlands, and generate income. Our biowaste programs transform discarded organic material
into clean energy, compost, and valuable products, creating both environmental and economic
benefits.
Turning Waste Into Energy
We design and implement waste-to-energy systems that convert
organic matter — from market leftovers to agricultural residues
into biogas for cooking and heating. This reduces reliance on firewood,
cuts greenhouse gas emissions, and provides affordable energy for households,
schools, and small businesses.
Energy Efficiency & Cleaner Cooking
Open-fire cooking and traditional stoves consume large amounts of firewood and charcoal,
contributing to deforestation, indoor air pollution, and health problems.
EWWA promotes energy-efficient cookstoves that use less fuel and produce
less smoke, reducing respiratory illnesses — especially among women and
children. We also train households on energy conservation practices to
stretch every kilowatt.
